I went to bed last night fully expecting to wake up to the sound of rain. And I did just that ... I woke up to the sound of rain. No ice, no snow. Rain.I knew things were fine when my neighbor was able to get out of her driveway. She drives a Minicooper. As she pulls out at 5 in the morning, the Cooper's headlights usually shoot right through my blinds. The usual routine this morning too ... so I knew I was coming in to work after that. All I could do was turn my head from the window, pull the blankets up a bit more, and sleep for another hour and a half.
Obviously, the rest of Atlanta didn't get that message. Tons of people stayed away from downtown, fearing the ice that didn't come.
That's fine with me. My commute was easy today. No bumpkins from outlying communities taking their broods into town to gawk at "them thar' tall bildins". No mini-van driving soccer moms headed near downtown for a "taste of the city". It was so great that we definitely could use a few more "big" storms to hit us.

we are supposed to get some snow here tonight...people start freaking out of course (thanks to the news, which is like "OMG SNOW! GO BUY BREAD AND MILK"). Dude, I'm from freakin California and I don't give a damn if it snows. If it snows enough, I don't go to work and can sit around eating nachos and drinking beer all day (bread and milk? puhhleeeze). Sadly, it will probably not snow enough to cancel work.

We got a dusting of snow last night, but nothing stuck to the roads. Still had a douchebag student e-mail that she *heard* the roads were bad. Apparently she didn't bother looking out a window.
