Moving Sucks Ass

Sorry I haven't been updating as frequently. I'm getting ready to move which means one thing ... going through all of your shit and getting rid of stuff you've accumulated in the past 2 years. I mean, I don't need 3 phone books (I have only one phone line and I usually use my mobile 90% of the time). I don't need 3 types of glass cleaner. I don't need 3 half-filled bottles of Ranch dressing. I don't need that can of lima beans that I can't even remember how I got. Goodwill will be getting a ton of old t-shirts and clothes from me that I no longer wear. I have so many papers and letters that I thought were so important at the time, I would make a killing recycling those bad boys. However ..... with a fireplace I can burn alot of that stuff ... heh-heh. So please be patient with me and I'll be back to my old blogging self!

Hey, Cincy, I'll be in Louisville on Saturday, August 6th to celebrate a friend's birthday. You should come drink with us.

LOL! ... I liked your fireplace comment. I swear, with all the old papers and junk mail I've got tucked away, I could keep a family of four safe, warm, and dry through an entire winter!

It sucks to go thru all that shit, but it will feel SO GOOD to start fresh, won't it?!

good luck with the move!

I might just have to see if I can swing down that way!

It will be great to start fresh. Hopefully I won't be in there too long before some PhD programs comes begging me to partake in their fun.

I can't wait to just start stockpiling wood and so on for those cold winter days .. heh-heh

I don't even know why people take their things with them. It's not like you are ever going to unpack everything. I've had my home for 12 years and I still have unpacked boxes in the basement.

I couldn't agree with this more! For a gal who has moved 6 times in 7 years, I can totally relate. It's amazing how things lose their sentimentality and importance over the years and when you have to move them.

Sending smoochy thanks. :)

I feel for you! I just moved 6 weeks ago. It seems hectic before the move and for at least a couple weeks after you move. Don't worry, it will be over soon, and you will feel much lighter! I threw away so much stuff, I can't believe I had a place that could fit all of it. Funny, cause I couldn't even see it, but it doubled when I took it out of the closets and storage space. Kind of like a wet sponge. Good luck.

I'm getting rid of as much as I can. If all goes well, I won't be in the apartment for too long (i.e. moving back out west or grad school). Maybe I should just keep it all in boxes after all

Independentgrl-
that is so true. I have about 3 boxes full of cases and papers from my copyright classes in law school that I'm seriously considering giving the old heave ho.

Lee Ann-
Thanks for the words. I am thinking that once I'm settled in, it will be like a whole new world and I'll feel like a fresh start.

Thanks! I'll be back before you know it!!

Yeah it is sorta annoying, but it will be a blast in the winter. Nothing like a fireplace to burn up all of those Chinese restaurant and church flyers that get left on my door every Saturday morning. Stop in and we'll burn 'em up and have some cold Newcastles!

Hooray Newcastles.

Hi Cincy, good luck with the move - I know what a nightmare it is! (Many early posts about that!) I've put a link to your site and a recommendation - 'Great' - on my site so you better come back soon!

Take Care mate,
